Follow The Directions

01

Step
1 mins

Place the butter in a microwave-safe bowl. Cover the bowl with parchment paper and then place a microwave-safe plate on top to hold the paper in place. This helps to prevent splattering. (1 minute)

02

Step
5 hrs

Microwave on high for 5 minutes. Check the butter's progress – it should be bubbling. If not, continue to microwave in 30-second intervals, checking each time, until the butter is a beautiful golden brown color and emits a fragrant, nutty aroma. (30-90 seconds)

03

Step
30 mins

Once browned, immediately remove the bowl from the microwave to prevent burning. Let it cool slightly before using.

Use unsalted butter for the best flavor control.
Keep a close eye on the butter during the final intervals to prevent burning. The browning process can happen quickly!
The browned butter will have milk solids settled at the bottom of the bowl. This is normal and adds to the flavor! You can strain it through a cheesecloth if you prefer a clarified brown butter.
