Follow The Directions

01

Step

Preheat oven to 325°F (165°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper for easy release. (5 minutes)

02

Step

In a medium bowl, thoroughly blend the sugar and almond paste with your fingertips until the almond paste is fully incorporated into the sugar, creating a smooth mixture. Stir in the shredded coconut and miniature chocolate chips. (10 minutes)

03

Step

In a clean, dry glass or metal bowl, whip the egg whites with the cream of tartar until stiff, glossy peaks form. (7 minutes)

04

Step

Gently fold half of the whipped egg whites into the coconut mixture to lighten the batter. Then, delicately fold in the remaining egg whites, being careful not to deflate the mixture. (5 minutes)

05

Step

Drop the batter by rounded teaspoonfuls onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 1 inch apart. (5 minutes)

06

Step

Bake in the preheated oven for 18-22 minutes, or until the tops are lightly golden brown and the edges are set. (20 minutes)

07

Step

Allow the macaroons to cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely. (15 minutes)

For best results, use high-quality chocolate chips and fresh coconut.
Ensure your egg whites are at room temperature for optimal volume when whipping.
Do not overbake the macaroons, as they can become dry. Watch them closely during the last few minutes of baking.
Store cooled macaroons in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
