Follow The Directions

01

Step

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). (5 minutes)

02

Step

Prepare the Crust: Combine crushed pretzels and sugar in a bowl. Stir in melted margarine until evenly moistened. Press the mixture firmly into the bottom and up the sides of a 9-inch pie plate to create an even crust. (10 minutes)

03

Step

Bake the Crust: Bake in the preheated oven until the edges are lightly golden brown, about 5 minutes. Let cool completely on a wire rack. (20 minutes cooling)

04

Step

Make the Filling: In a large bowl, whisk together sweetened condensed milk, thawed limeade concentrate, tequila, orange liqueur, and green food coloring (if using) until smooth and well combined. (5 minutes)

05

Step

Whip the Cream: In a separate chilled bowl, beat heavy whipping cream with an electric mixer until soft peaks form. Be careful not to overwhip. (5 minutes)

06

Step

Combine Filling and Cream: Gently fold the whipped cream into the lime mixture until just combined. Avoid overmixing to keep the filling light and airy. (5 minutes)

07

Step

Assemble and Freeze: Pour the filling into the cooled pretzel crust. Cover the pie with plastic wrap, pressing it lightly against the surface to prevent ice crystals from forming. Freeze for at least 4 hours, or preferably overnight, until firm. (4 hours freezing)

08

Step

Serve: Let the pie stand at room temperature for about 10 minutes before slicing and serving. Garnish with fresh lime slices for an extra touch of elegance. (10 minutes)

For a more intense lime flavor, add the zest of one lime to the filling.
If you don't have orange liqueur, you can substitute with orange juice or a dash of orange extract.
To easily crush the pretzels, place them in a zip-top bag and use a rolling pin or mallet.
For easier slicing, dip your knife in warm water and wipe clean between slices.
If you want to get fancy, sprinkle some coarse sea salt on top before freezing.

The pretzel crust is genius! It adds the perfect amount of saltiness to balance the sweetness of the filling.
