For an even richer flavor, use dark chocolate chips instead of semisweet. If you don't have Dutch-process cocoa powder, regular unsweetened cocoa powder will work as well. Feel free to substitute other nuts, such as pecans or almonds, for the walnuts. For a softer cookie, slightly underbake them.
