Follow The Directions

01

Step
33 mins

In a stockpot over medium heat, add the ground beef. Stir in the garlic paste, ginger paste, ground coriander, ground cumin, ground turmeric, garam masala, 1/2 teaspoon ground red chile pepper, and salt to taste. Add water and chana dal; simmer until the meat is fully cooked and all water has evaporated (approximately 30-35 minutes).

02

Step
5 mins

Using an immersion blender, blend the beef and dal mixture together directly in the stockpot. Add 1/2 cup chopped cilantro; blend until well combined. Roll spoonfuls of the mixture into walnut-sized balls and shape into smooth, flat patties.

03

Step
7 mins

In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, 1 tablespoon chopped cilantro, 1/2 teaspoon ground red chile pepper, and salt to taste. Place bread crumbs on a plate. Dip each patty into the egg mixture, then roll in bread crumbs to coat completely.

04

Step
6 mins

Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat. Fry the patties in a single layer until golden brown and crisp on both sides, about 2-4 minutes per side.

For a richer flavor, marinate the ground beef with the spices for at least 30 minutes before cooking.
Adjust the amount of red chile pepper to suit your spice preference.
Serve hot with a side of refreshing raita and your favorite burger buns for a delightful experience.

The key is to not overcook the patties. Keep an eye on them and flip them gently.
