Follow The Directions

01

Step

Place the pork roast in the bottom of your slow cooker. (5 minutes)

02

Step

In a medium bowl, whisk together the tomato sauce, sugar, soy sauce, sake, and crushed garlic until the sugar is completely dissolved. (5 minutes)

03

Step

Pour the shoyu mixture evenly over the pork roast, ensuring it's well coated. (2 minutes)

04

Step

Cover the slow cooker and cook on Low for 8 to 10 hours, or until the pork is incredibly tender and easily shreds with a fork. (8-10 hours)

For an even deeper flavor, sear the pork roast in a hot skillet on all sides before placing it in the slow cooker.
If you don't have sake, you can substitute with dry sherry or rice wine vinegar, but the flavor will be slightly different.
Shred the pork directly in the slow cooker using two forks. This allows the meat to absorb even more of the flavorful sauce.
Serve the shredded pork over rice, noodles, or in slider buns for a delicious and versatile meal. Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions for added flair.
