Follow The Directions

01

Step
1 hrs

In a medium bowl, whisk together 2 tablespoons soy sauce, tomato paste, green onions, rice wine, 1 tablespoon sugar, sesame oil, ginger, garlic, and 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes. Add pork strips and toss to coat evenly. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and marinate in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour, or up to 4 hours for enhanced flavor. (Marinating time: 1-4 hours)

02

Step
8 mins

Heat 1 tablespoon canola oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Working in batches to avoid overcrowding, add the marinated pork and cook, stirring occasionally, until the pork is browned and cooked through, about 8-10 minutes. Ensure the internal temperature reaches at least 145 degrees F (63 degrees C). Set the cooked pork aside. (Cooking time: 8-10 minutes per batch)

03

Step
1 mins

In the same skillet, heat the remaining 1 teaspoon canola oil over medium-high heat. Add the celery strips, remaining 1 tablespoon sugar, and remaining 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes. Stir-fry for about 1 minute. (Cooking time: 1 minute)

04

Step
1 mins

Add the remaining 2 tablespoons soy sauce to the skillet and continue to cook and stir for another minute. (Cooking time: 1 minute)

05

Step
2 mins

Finally, add the reserved celery leaves and stir-fry until the celery is crisp-tender, about 2-3 minutes. (Cooking time: 2-3 minutes)

06

Step

Serve the stir-fried celery alongside the Korean fried pork. Serve immediately with steamed rice.

For a richer flavor, use pork shoulder instead of pork loin. Marinating overnight is recommended for maximum tenderness.
Adjust the amount of red pepper flakes to your preference. A pinch of black pepper can also add another layer of flavor.
If you don't have rice wine, dry sherry can be used as a substitute.

The marinade is the key! It makes the pork so tender and flavorful. I marinated it overnight, and it was perfect.
