For an extra nutty flavor, add 1/2 cup of chopped pecans or walnuts to the crumb topping. If you don't have instant tapioca, you can use 1 tablespoon of cornstarch instead. Be sure to mix it well with the sugar before adding the orange juice. Feel free to substitute other berries like raspberries or blackberries for a mixed berry crisp. To make ahead, prepare the blueberry filling and crumb topping separately. Store them in the refrigerator until ready to bake. Assemble the crisp just before baking.
