Follow The Directions

01

Step

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish thoroughly. Dust lightly with flour to prevent sticking. (5 minutes)

02

Step

In a large bowl, using an electric mixer, beat together the brown sugar, vegetable oil, and eggs until the mixture is smooth and creamy, approximately 2-3 minutes. (3 minutes)

03

Step

In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, salt, and baking soda. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with the cooled coffee, beginning and ending with the dry ingredients. Mix until just combined. Be careful not to overmix. (5 minutes)

04

Step

Gently fold in the chocolate chips and toasted walnuts until evenly distributed throughout the batter. (2 minutes)

05

Step

Spread the batter evenly into the prepared baking dish. (2 minutes)

06

Step

Bake in the preheated oven for 25 to 30 minutes, or until the edges are nicely browned and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. (30 minutes)

07

Step

Let the bars cool completely in the baking dish before cutting into squares. (60 minutes)

For a richer coffee flavor, use espresso instead of brewed coffee.
To toast the walnuts, spread them on a baking sheet and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 5-7 minutes, or until fragrant.
For a fudgier bar, slightly underbake. For a cakier bar, bake until just set.
Store cooled bars in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
