For a milder giardiniera, remove the seeds and membranes from the jalapeño peppers before slicing. Adjust the amount of red pepper flakes to suit your preferred level of spiciness. Feel free to experiment with other vegetables, such as pepperoncini or banana peppers. The giardiniera will keep in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
