For extra flavor, try adding 1/2 cup of chopped nuts (such as walnuts or pecans) or 1 cup of raisins or chocolate chips to the dough. Store the cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days. For a softer cookie, slightly underbake them. They will continue to set as they cool.
