For extra flavor, add a teaspoon of lemon zest to the cream cheese mixture. If you don't have time to make your own whipped cream, you can use store-bought, but freshly whipped cream will give you the best results. Macerating the strawberries really brings out their sweetness and creates a lovely syrup that complements the creamy filling. The pastry shells can be baked a day in advance and stored in an airtight container at room temperature.
