For a vegetarian option, substitute the ground beef and sausage with lentils or a plant-based ground. To add depth of flavor, brown the ground beef and sausage before adding them to the filling. Cabbage rolls can be prepared a day ahead. Store them covered in the refrigerator and bake as directed before serving. These also freeze extremely well. Prepare, bake, let cool completely and freeze them for up to 2 months.
