The vodka is essential here to help the ice cream from freezing too hard. You will not taste it in the final product.
Feel free to experiment with different extracts or add-ins like cocoa powder or chopped nuts.
Be sure to stir the ice cream at the intervals mentioned in the instructions to obtain the best texture. If you forget to stir, simply let the ice cream soften slightly before scooping.
