Follow The Directions

01

Step
8 mins

In a large skillet, brown the ground beef and sausage over medium-high heat, breaking them up with a spoon as they cook. (Approximately 8-10 minutes)

02

Step
1 mins

Drain off any excess grease from the skillet. (Approximately 1 minute)

03

Step
6 mins

Reduce the heat to medium-low. Add the American cheese cubes to the skillet and stir constantly until completely melted and smooth. (Approximately 5-7 minutes)

04

Step
2 mins

Stir in the tomato sauce, tomato paste, drained green chiles, and drained jalapeno peppers. If desired, add chili powder for an extra kick. (Approximately 2 minutes)

05

Step
3 mins

Mix all ingredients thoroughly until well combined and heated through. (Approximately 3 minutes)

06

Step
1 mins

Transfer the dip to a slow cooker and set it to Low to keep warm until serving. Alternatively, keep warm in the skillet over very low heat, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking. (Approximately 1 minute)

For a smoother dip, use processed cheese food instead of American cheese.
Adjust the amount of jalapenos to your desired level of spiciness.
To prevent sticking in the slow cooker, spray the insert with non-stick cooking spray before adding the dip.
Serve with tortilla chips, crackers, or toasted baguette slices.
Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat gently on the stovetop or in the microwave.
