For best results, use very cold butter. You can even freeze the butter for 10-15 minutes before using. If you don't have apple pie spice, you can make your own by combining cinnamon, nutmeg, and allspice. Scones are best enjoyed fresh, but can be stored in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
